Summary: “All Vulcans are constrained. By our biology, by our clans, by our whole society. But women more so than men, and offworlder women married to Vulcan men most of all.” Nyota loves Spock. But she can’t have him without taking Vulcan culture, too.
Note: the title is an adaption of The River Between by Ngugi Wa Thiong’o. [personal profile] laurajv wants me to write a sequel; I may, but it probably won’t be any time soon.

The most important thing for the Vulcans right now is the rebuilding of their culture and society, not the building of the new colony’s buildings. They named their new homeworld ‘rebirth,’ and that’s exactly what they want to happen. )
War Games by Seperis

This immense (100k+ words) novel is a sequel to a Kirk/Spock Pon Farr story which is very good, but which I never rec'd here because, unusually, it doesn't have much to do with Vulcans.

This novel is great because it addresses the reconstruction of Vulcan, Vulcan xenophobia, Federation politics, it makes the Orions into real and interesting players on the Galactic stage, and considers how the Nerada incident has impacted relations with the Romulans. Highly recommended.

A/N: I posted this elsewhere, but thought it fit here.

The Old Ways
Having, Wanting by [livejournal.com profile] doyle_sb4 is a short piece about Spock Prime and T'Pring -- the AOS universe T'Pring. As the author notes, if you do not know the TOS episode "Amok Time", it may not make much sense to you.

The story is set in a Vulcan refugee camp in Tunisia. It showcases who Spock Prime is in his maturity, and who this universe's T'Pring is: But that other life is irrelevant, now, and this young woman has never harmed him.
