This immense (100k+ words) novel is a sequel to a Kirk/Spock Pon Farr story which is very good, but which I never rec'd here because, unusually, it doesn't have much to do with Vulcans.

This novel is great because it addresses the reconstruction of Vulcan, Vulcan xenophobia, Federation politics, it makes the Orions into real and interesting players on the Galactic stage, and considers how the Nerada incident has impacted relations with the Romulans. Highly recommended.
Title: Reunion
Author: Meri
Pairing(s): None
Rating: PG
Length: 2660
Summary: A conversation on New Vulcan between Sarek and Spock Prime.
Disclaimer: Sadly, the characters of Star Trek, specifically Spock Prime and Sarek, do not belong to me. I am learning to accept it. I'm not making any money on them, either.
Note 1: Part of the idea for this story came from a wonderful post [personal profile] beatrice_otter made about her thoughts on what might happen with Vulcan culture. You can read it here.
Note 2: Many thanks to my betas [personal profile] regan_v and especially to [personal profile] lanning for advice that went above and beyond.
